TV commercials are catching the virus

For weeks I've been watching the old, pre-virus TV commercials that tsunami across the screen, totally undaunted.

Apparently, you need :
new cars
computer virus protection
new furniture
new shoes
new beer/junkfood
to go out to restaurants
etc.

But this morning I noticed the national chains have made new commercials for the same products, but with some kind of promise that "even in these tough times, as we help each other manage the difficulties...."

But of course, the ads continue, unabated.

For the first time in a while, I'm actually looking forward to seeing my credit card bill: It's gonna be short and light. I'm not even buying gas.

While that's nice to save money I wish I could drive around and see my family.
