Sent to me by a friend.

I applaud all of them for their efforts.

As the number of people testing positive for coronavirus is skyrocketing around the globe, with more than 35K confirmed in the US alone, tragic milestones are hit daily. Death tolls in Italy have reached 5,476, while Spain has been hit with 1,813 losses. It’s now clear that curbing the pandemic will take a full-blown battle.

And medical workers are now fighting on the front line. The heartbreaking pictures below serve as living proof of what’s happening behind the emergency doors. From eternal shifts that leave their faces severely bruised to working without proper equipment and risking lives—the sacrifice is overwhelming. While you scroll through the pictures, take a moment to think about these heroes and thank them.

It is infuriating to think of the inaction of this republican white house in the face of the profound need for supplies. Fuck those guys.

due to lack of protective equipment.

Every one of them is going above and beyond what can be expected of anyone.

May whatever power exists in the universe watch over and care for them.

We must never forget, for even a minute, the GOP did this, by design, to each and every one of us.

The work itself is stressful enough that they SHOULD NOT have to worry where their next PPE device is coming from.

The poor excuse we have sitting in the White House is doing absolutely nothing to help. In fact, I think that is his inherent nature.
Do nothing, lie, brag, and wait for adulation from his cultist members.

It's hard for me to wish ill health or harm to anyone. But If I could bring myself to that point, I know who would be on the top of my list.

To the medical care people who risk their own health to help others. Thank you,

I really think it boils down to that.

He feels inferior in comparison to them and so he feels compelled to harm them and reduce them. I really think this is the operating system by which he operates.

and we're incredibly lucky we have them.

On the other hand, after having been let go yesterday from work because of the Covid-19 business restrictions, I wish I had 12 to 16 hour shifts to work - for the time being it will be unemployment and about 20 hours a week as an Amazon fulfillment worker.

It feels like soon the only people working (and making a living wage) will be medical personnel, drivers for Walmart or bankers.

In the TOTAL absence of leadership here, they are the ones who step up and inspire.

....before long. I'm most concerned about their scarring on the inside. No doubt, they are seeing patients in the throes of death more often than usual. Seeing family members break down at the loss of their loved ones on this scale can not be easy. I hope they will all have access to the mental support and self care they will all need in the future.
The pictures are striking. However, they don't show any real scars. Their life partners, friends, and family members whom now see the newly shortened tempers, weary bodies, numb/ checked out emotional responses, the spontaneous tears....they are the ones who see the real scars. There will be a need for much healing when this is all over.

That's why the money allocated by the "Families First Coronavirus Response Act" must get money, manpower and equipment to them as we speak.

What were some of them saying? “I stayed at work for you. You stay at home for me.”

Man - angels among us. It’s making me get all teary-eyed. Thank God for these wonderful selfless people. They suffer so most of us won’t have to.
