Consult your doctor before taking medication that Trump prescribes!

Trump says chloroquine is a drug that works for fighting against the Corona Virus. Well, not so fast! A man in Arizona has died from taking chloroquine and is wife is in critical condition too. People need to quit listening to Trump’s lies & use better common sense. We have been told for a very long time to check with your doctor before taking medication that was intended for a something else!

to him and scarcely question. Even those who are not truly "lay people" on some of these issues, do not take the time to independently research.

I did a conference call with ER nurses (where my sister works) as part of some contract work on infection control procedures and was shocked at how much absolutely BS information that the WH is pushing had been believed. Fortunately, I had come prepared with an FAQ that anticipated most of those issues--with actual journal references and citations from scientific news sites. Further, the older nurses with experience from previous major viral outbreaks including H1N1, H5N1, SARS, early swine flu of the 70s and even those who remembered the lessons learned by their parents re: polio weighed in and shut down some of the fake memes truly believed and promulgated by some younger and quite credulous new nurses.

The decades of assuming no President would lie and put American lives at risk during a national (and global) emergency have left us ill-prepared for the kind of critical thinking needed during this time.

I am assuming they used too much and overdosed.

"An Arizona man and his wife ingested a fish tank cleaning additive made with the same active ingredient as chloroquine phosphate, which President Trump has referred to as a “game changer.”"

I take it for Lupus. Some take it for RA. It isn’t a cure, but it’s one of the safest cures, though not really “safe” I can’t understand what this would kill a person, unless the person too a huge dose. I also can’t imagine it curing the Corona Virus. I do know that there is now a shortage for patients who actually take the medicine due to people somehow getting prescriptions (which can only mean that the doctors believe it, too).

From the article, "...a fish tank cleaning additive made with the same active ingredient as chloroquine phosphate."

I doubt your prescribed drug prepared by a licensed pharmaceutical company, prescribed by a trained and licensed physician and distributed by a licensed pharmacy is made of the same chemicals as a cleaning fluid sold by PetSmart.

Correct. I guess it’s the phosphate that’s poisonous. Hydrochloroquine or chloroquine (or it can be sold as Plaquenil) are sold for people with Malaria, Lupus, RA, and I’d guess a bunch of other things, but definitely no fish tanks. And the pills are being hoarded. My pharmacist thinks it’s the government buying them straight from the manufacturer, and I’m not sure if that sounds crazy or if it actually could be the case!
This is what comes of posting while almost asleep! 🐟 🐠 Sorry!

The stuff you buy at a fish store is not the same form of the drug you and I take.

I take hydroxychloroquine and it’s not free from dangers or side effects. I have to have an eye exam every six months to check for irreversible retina damage. There is nausea, muscle weakness, rashes and other side effects.

No one should be taking this drug without a prescription.

Also, it doesn’t “cure” Coronavirus. It is meant to depress the immune system so it doesn’t attack heathy lung tissue.
