What the Hell is this "Magical thinking"????

My God, this is a highly communicable virus which causes a fair number of people to DIE and a greater number to be seriously ill with possible permanent damage to their pulmonary system.

This is not a State Lottery...this is an organism which seeks humans, hides and spreads to other humans, and then manifests itself in a dangerous fashion, particularly for susceptible individuals. It then lingers for further infection of others following its overt clinical course.

There is a mathematical certainty that reopening places of congregation will cause massive illness and deaths which also certainly, could be avoided if the proper resources would be able to be instituted. Unfortunately, these Republican-fascist-genocidal-maniacs don't give a damn about anyone except their own portfolios and I would extend that to say unequivocally that they don't really care about their own family or friends or colleagues or anyone including themselves. Like drug addiction, homosexuality, and unwanted pregnancy, this issue will in fact touch every American family. Believing that it is important to rally the stock market at this time no matter what the cost is going to cause some to lose their loved one, or at least a person whom they're supposed to love.

The Rand Paul maneuver the other day is emblematic of how these people think or don't think. but guess what: the virus doesn't give a crap about how you vote or think: it is going to ravage the elderly and infirm and greatly threaten younger folk despite assertions that they are relatively immune from the severest consequences. Yes, the fatality rate is lower but so is the fatality rate for those who drive 130 mph versus those who drive 180 mph. It is just absurdist and surrealistic to believe that this is just going to go away the way defeated Democratic candidates for President just go away. It is not "out of sight, out of mind". This is a very bad situation which is without any shred of doubt going to be made worse.

I will leave with a reference to the film The Terminator: the virus is like the machine: it will not stop, it will not cease until it accomplished its mission. Traditional weapons are useless against it. The virus's mission is to replicate by establishing a foothold in a human organism and to spread effectively. Its mechanism for doing so is extremely sophisticated and form an evolutionary standpoint, if you believe in such things, it is remarkable. If you DON'T believe in evolution, then your God planted it on this Earth to kill your family, since it is all part of His Plan. Either way, you're DEAD.

Shining Cities on Hills, American Exceptionalism, Last Best Hope Of Earth, Morning In America, you name it, if it's bullshit and red white and blue, we'll gobble it right up.

I have no idea of how many of us are aware of the fact that we inhabit a biophysical world and are subject to its laws, but I can't imagine it's much of a percentage.

If we can't deal with this, the rest of this century is going to kick our ass.

Fascism in America must be stopped.

Otherwise, who really cares what happens to us?
