Remember that Dr that I'm married to? I was told today that the same hospital tried to lease ventilators to prepare for the tidal wave that is coming. The cost to lease 10 ventilators (no less than a 1 year contract) is $50,000 PER MONTH! That's 50k PER MONTH for 10 ventilators that must come with a 1 year contract/lease.

This is a smaller hospital system by contrast, the catchment area services around 75,000 people. The hospital declined the lease. With the ventilators that they currently have, they could ventilate .05% of the population.
