Democrats should introduce logistics for the general election during a pandemic

I hope the Democrats introduce a plan for the election this November. We need to plan ahead as a nation. What if this thing hasn’t gone away? What if it goes away and then flares up by October?

We need more early voting. We need more mail in ballots. We need more same day registration. We need voting to be a national holiday. We need our college kids to have every opportunity to vote.

While Trump plans to reopen the economy at the wrong time in 2 weeks, we could steal the spotlight by showing true leadership in a time of crisis by planning for the most important event in a democracy - election of leaders.

I think I read that Republicans demanded that the vote-by-mail provisions be removed htuttle Mar 2020 #1
sad fact is, if this is not part of what the Senate passed last night, this likely won;t happen beachbumbob Mar 2020 #2

They were in the bill from the House, but I think it failed to make the final version.

Vote by mail only - every federal, state, and local election.
Vote by mail, every state, coast to coast.

We need social distancing,
We need to up the voter participation,
We need to make it easier to vote,
We need a work around for long lines at polls, often contrived,
We need a work around for too few voting machines at some locations often contrived,
We need to stop the changing of polling places at the last minute,
We need to trash the use of electronic voting machines who's votes tabulated can not be audited, but easily manipulated.

We need to think smarter and use the techniques used by republicans. Disasters mean immediate corrective reforms are required. When disaster strikes we must be at the ready with plans to bring drastic change that reshuffled the deck in our favor.

WE MUST PUSH FOR MAIL IN VOTING NATION WIDE, for the up coming November 2020 election and every local, state, and national election thereafter.

ALL OF THE VOTING PROBLEMS LISTED ABOVE magically disappear with mail in only voting.

The emphasis should be we need to social distance, we do not know when the pandemic will be over, many election poll workers are elderly, we can not take the chance these elderly poll workers will get COVID-19 or the general voting population.

WE MUST SET UP AND VOTE BY MAIL 11/2020.

There's a lot of discussion on the web about this. But as the one article linked below points out, a big issue in how well we will try to meet this challenge is whether Republicans will cooperate. Since that party has become viciously corrupt and an orderly election would inevitably lead to what will probably be historic losses for them, my easy guess is mostly hell no at federal and state levels.

"How to make sure everyone can vote during the coronavirus pandemic"

WHO we give power to matters. A bunch who indulged with a bad, bad, bad mistake in 2016 will pay with their lives and far more will lose people dear to them and their economic wellbeing. And that doesn't even dare consider what will happen to us if the Republicans manage to retain power.
