Puts things in perspective.

My daughter has long said, "We're here until we learn our lessons."

I hope we learn our lessons.

Sadly, I think this will be used the opposite way by greedy politicians and businessmen oligarchs everywhere, especially here where we have Traitor Tot deliberately trying to destroy workers and blue states.

One more:

And thank you for ending the conflict here on DU between the Biden and Bernie supporters. It was getting brutal.

It's time we just shut up and vote. Now that we have a common cause (CV), we can ALL show up in unison in November and depose that orange dictator wannabe.

It doesn't matter who, just as long as they're blue.

when Americans became blindly obsessed with possessions, things, toys, money and big houses. Always wanting more, not really needing, but just have to have. Bigger houses, bigger tvs, more and more money. We became driven to have more than our friends and neighbors. Peoples worth was measured by what they owned, not what they were. Why else are poets, artists, and other outliers considered freaks or different? They are not striving for that new boat, or closets full of clothes.

Our three children family lived in a 1000 sq. ft. house. Three bedrooms, one bath. We never felt cramped or underprivileged. WE had clothes and what toys we needed. We played board games and made up a lot of things to do. We also lived in a large subdivision with dozens and dozens of kids all from working class families. Most families had one good car, the Sunday car, and dads work car. Things were simpler, less complicated, and certainly less ostentatious.

blather.

I have a friend who is immersed to New Age crap. I'm trying to maintain the friendship, but the smiley platitudes drive me crazy. She often says that the things that happen to us happen to teach us something. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I thought to myself that if she says one word about the things that happen to us happen to teach us something I would explode. She modified it. The small things that happen to us happen to teach us something. Obviously she was aware of how the treacle actually sounds.
