.....to get what you need. Cuomo's tone has changed.
Think about that for a minute. Let it sink in.

I'll speak for myself anyhow - doesn't bother me at all in this case.

(20,018 posts)Yes, we're in the middle of a health emergency, but we were already in the middle of losing democracy, and that's still going full tilt.
You want to survive the pandemic only to wake up in a fascist country?
Not me.

(1,206 posts)Bitching about it on DU does less than nothing.
Ask someone on a ventilator how they feel about Cuomo's 'new' tone and I'm guessing they'll be cool with it.

(20,018 posts)And I don't care about Cuomo's tone.
I care that we have a government in which that matters.

(1,206 posts)Vote in November to stop it.
Until then, I'm fine with Cuomo pacifying Trump to save lives, and I'm sure that those whose lives will be saved are/will be as well.

(5,931 posts)This is a whole new kettle of fish. How is this even remotely like the last 3 years?

(1,206 posts)The only thing that's different are the stakes involved.
Cuomo realizes this and is doing what is necessary to make sure he saves lives - he's not complaining about having to 'be nice', he's facing an emergency situation and doing everything he can to get what he needs.
I guess the alternative is for Cuomo to say "I will not be made to play nice with this asshole, I'll hold my breath until he gives me what I'm asking for - and if people die, so be it". Constructive right?

(869 posts)I applaud Cuomo for changing tone to save lives of his constituents---but agree that's why Trump always comes out on top...never held to account for his failures, he declares he's perfect/winning inspite of everyone else tip toeing around him and doing the heavy lifting---then will blame Cuomo and others for not doing their jobs...why his poll numbers are up. The consummate con man/wizard of oz.

The day the media went nuts on Trump's so called tone change.
But
Trump as usual will use this to his advantage.

I think for every thing Trump has done for the last 3 years there's a corresponding scene in the Godfather movie.

IT'S ALL ABOUT RE-ELECTION!
Of course, Moscow Mitch will back them up... After all, Trump's re-election is in the National interest. As, was established by the GOP Senate 'acquittal'.
