Watching news videos online - question regarding my internet monthly limits.

I live way out in the country and had dial-up but switched to satellite as soon as it was available. It's wonderful BUT it bogs down when my (budgeted) usage limit is reached.

My question: Will watching a few news videos online every day (youtube or whatever) quickly gobble up my usage? So far, I'd been bookmarking things of interest on my laptop and watching them at the Library, but it's closed because of the pandemic.

My rollover date is the 12th of every month and it'd be horrible if I shot myself in the foot by watching a few.

TIA!

is really cheap on data usage.

I suppose you should check on the monthly usage every so often, and see if there is a way to upgrade usage. FWIW, my cell carrier has something like a three gig limit, but for an extra ten bucks I can get 50 gigs.

Then I use my cell phone to tether a laptop.
