17:05 GMT - Italy death toll rises by 683 to 7,503
Italy has reported 683 new coronavirus deaths in the last day, bringing the total to 7,503 in the country, which has become an epicentre of the pandemic.

The number of confirmed cases in the hard-hit country rose to 74,386 from the 69,176 reported on Tuesday, according to health officials.

On Monday 602 people died. That followed 650 deaths on Sunday and 793 on Saturday and 743 yesterday.
The increase in the rate of overall cases on Tuesday was similar to previous days: a rise of 8.2% from 63,176 to 69,176. Yesterday rose by 6,000 cases. Today 5,210. That still is an incredible amount of people.
