When we we learn to stop this shit.

Why, oh why, was there absolutely no peep about offsetting the massive deficit spending by demanding a substantial investment from the most fortunate individuals among us in the form of a wealth tax? We should at least be TALKING about this, and talking about it right now, loud and clear.

10% own 70% of our national wealth (i.e., about 70 trillion of the nation's 100 trillion). That wealth will be much diminished when we get through this, but it will still be concentrated at the top. Recovery demands some give on the "redistribute down" front to offset the destabilizing force of such massive concentration of wealth in the hands of the few at the expense of the many. We simply cannot, as a nation, afford to allow the current level of wealth inequality survive this crisis.

These guys want to refill their coffers? Quit looking for a government handout with no offset. Make peace with an investment in the health of the nation that will help rebuild social and economic structures from the ground up -- and thereby help them recoup losses and benefit from a more stable and resilient economy in the long term. Let's say 6% wealth tax 2020, 3% 2021, and 1% going forward. It is really not at all unreasonable. That 6% would probably be the best investment any of them have ever made.

We know what is going to happen with this money. The American people will be thrown a few crumbs to keep them appeased and the corporations and very wealthy will make off with another killing at our expense. WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS.

Then they will turn around and tell us that there is not enough money to fund Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid and slash that to death.

There will be a severe health crisis and people will die in the millions and those who don't will be burdened by overwhelming debt because they are uninsured or underinsured and the Federal Government will tell them to go to hell. "They aren't responsible".

We are going third world very soon. The more I hear him, the more certain I am that we will be a third word dictatorship within the next four years.
