Trump Will Kill Americans With New Coronavirus Classification System

https://www.politicususa.com/2020/03/26/trump-coronavirus-classification.html

"SNIP.....

In a letter to the nation’s governors, Trump announced that he was changing the social distancing classifications by county, which will increase the epidemic.

......

The classification by county system is flawed because the US still lacks adequate testing, and viruses do not respect borders. Most importantly, Trump’s new guidelines are useless because he doesn’t have the legal authority to impose them. Donald Trump can’t overrule mayors and governors.

If a system like Trump’s were implemented nationwide, the virus would spread even faster, because it will eventually reach even the president’s social distancing “low risk” areas.

Experts have warned that Trump’s system will only make the economy worse by easing the spread of the virus and expanding the domestic crisis.

......SNIP"

8. I think the herd immunity is just cover for trying to make us more contagious.

How can we get people to stop isolating and get sick? Herd immunity only applies if a percentage of the population is immune or vaccinated. Does not apply to a novel infection. Herd immunity depends on immune members not passing an infectious agent. And they must have been told this. But the base is uneducated for the most part.

Trump will use this as a club to limit resources that states need. Just another form of bullying.

13. Here's how inadequate testing has been -- courtesy 7 weeks of DT admin refusing to act.

Most states are doing their best to play "catch up" after DT admin's resistance and incompetence in the first seven, absolutely most crucial, weeks. (Some states not so much.)

Below -- Tests per 100,000 for the states for which data could be found.

Looking at these numbers, I think it would be obvious to a fourth grader that the data is utterly inadequate. Just show them a nice visual. Like a picture of the Rose Bowl at capacity with 600 people in the crowd highlighted. And that's the "best" state.

Of course, in addition to the problem of so few tests, counties won't be comparable because testing rates and criteria haven't been uniform due to utter lack of coordination across local public health authorities.

Number of tests per 100,000

The top 5 states in testing are:

Washington 600

New York 500

Massachusetts 280

Louisiana 240

Minnesota 230

-----------------------------------
States data could be found for. States not reporting number of tests presumably have also tested fewer than 20 per 10,000

Tennessee 200

Wisconsin 180

New Jersey 170

Connecticut 160

California 160

Colorado 140

Ohio 120

Illinois 110

Florida 110

Iowa 100

Pennsylvania 100

North Carolina 100

Michigan 90

Mississippi 90

Virginia 70

Georgia 60

Indiana 50

Texas 50

Arizona 12
