An unbroken chain of Republicans. This is what pandemic response looks like.

Municipality: Republican Mayor

Have not received any communication, have no idea if she is doing anything whatsoever.

County: 100% Republican County Commission

Have not received any communication from my district's commissioner. The Commission announced yesterday they are closing our beaches from 11am - 4pm for the next three days. That's it beyond closing the beach parking lots (so you can still go to the beach, you just haven't been able to park there for the last week).

Republican Sheriff who is so far up Trump's backside he sees orange. He had a "press" conference in the last week or so where he didn't invite Florida Today, our local paper, and proposed some kind of weird parade where kids could sit in their cars and watch fire trucks and police cars go by. We are talking about the "Wheel of Fugitive" asshat here.

Top county health official announced she was going on a cruise for our spring break last week. Fortunately, the cruise lines shut down before that idiotic maniac could go.

State: Republican Representative, Republican Senator, Republican Governor

Have not received any communication from my state rep or state senator.

DeSantis, need I say more?

Federal: Republican Representative, two Republican Senators, Republican President

My sister's company has an older gentleman who has had flu-like symptoms for almost two weeks and tested negative for the flu. He flies back and forth regularly from NY. He could not get approved for a coronavirus test.

My husband's best friend works at the VA clinic. They cannot get tests.

Our county has just 14 diagnosed cases of COVID-19 with increases of 1 case a day this week and only two people in the hospital. So everyone thinks we've got it under control. It feels like local "leaders" are pretending we exist in a privileged state of imaginary isolation. Things are about to get really really bad here and most people will have no clue why. When all you have is Republicans from bottom to top, you can expect ... well, nothing really. And nothing is what we're getting.

Nice knowing you, folks!

To MSM they will say - thoughts and prayers. They will blame travelers and never accept that they themselves are the killers, all the while they are taking steps to kill even more of us and to change our government into full on fascist mode.

how it always is here in Kansas.

The difference? Our state likes to elect Dem. Governors now and again, usually women. They have been pretty good for the most part and our current one is doing a great, terrific job.

I have not heard from ANY of my other people either. The R's tried to shut the Governor down and won a little but not enough to keep her quiet or to make her stop, she is like a bulldozer just going after everything.

Our cases have been very low here and only something like 2000 tests were done. All of a sudden someone must have sent kits and we went slowly up until a few says ago when we jumped from 80 something to 172 today and that is the number from last night still.

Take care of yourself and stay away from the idiots who do not know that not hearing any news is a bad thing.

I was surprised to hear a long-time Republican neighbor praising the Democratic governors' decisions and leadership activity while out walking yesterday. Said he was tuning in to their press conferences and ignoring Trump. Mentioned that one of the comments he appreciated most (couldn't remember which governor said it), was that for those of us practicing extreme social distancing who might feel like it was all for nothing when this is over, that's the point. If it was all for nothing then we succeeded.

I doubt he and his wife are Trumpists and have no idea who they voted for in 2016, but do know for a fact they are registered Republicans. I was gratified to hear he's taking it seriously. Hopefully, more and more people will before it is too late.

Our paths have crossed several times, and I have had the occasion to tell him to his face how thoroughly I disagree profoundly with him in almost every way.

He accepts that with equanimity and good grace strangely enough. Very respectful of our differences in personal conversation.

He treats his deputies like gold and promotes compassionate community policing. They honestly try not to jack people up and keep arrest rates down.

While being a complete dumb fuck gun nut who thinks school teachers, HR professionals, and pretty much everyone over the age of 4 should be armed to the teeth.

I honestly can't wrap my brain around the guy.

His Trump humping seals it for me though. Bad news and our county deserves way better.

to see how other branches of my employer might be affected.

The department of health websites of states with Dem governors were helpful and informative regarding COVID-19, including maps of where the cases are.

The department of health websites of states with Repub governors did not mention COVID-19. Its just not happening there. Except it is happening there, and the state government gives no guidance whatsoever.

Sounds a lot like our state until we got Beshear in as governor, although we do still have a Rethug legislature. We do have a great Democratic Rep. John Yarmuth from the Louisville area.

If Florida wants tourism to return with any mass quantity, they must be completely rid of this virus. Perhaps that's a good theme for you folks to push.

It's extremely hard to be positive right now, but we wish you the best of luck for bringing those people to their senses.

I still say we need a vaccine for right-wing brainwashing as much as one for coronavirus.
