I wrote a Thank You note to my postman

and taped it to the side of my mailbox. I heard his vehicle so I was watching out the window as he pulled up and removed and read the card.

I could see that he was tearing up as he was writing something.

After he moved down the street I went out and got my mail. He had written a "you are welcome" note back to me.

little things...

my son came by today and asked for stamps and envelopes... he said he is writing letters these days a great way to stay in touch and let people know how you feel... sometimes so much nicer than a text or email

I have a small self-serve stand out by the road (my house sets back) I usually sell honey and homemade soaps and such... I ordered a couple of coffee urns and am now offering coffee and herbal tea to anyone wanting to stop... I told the FedEx and UPS Drivers and mailman to help themselves anytime they want I made sticky buns to go with the coffee today

there are so many nice things we can do for each other in this time of isolation

I was outside chatting with a neighbor (from a safe distance) when he pulled up. He told us today was his last day on this route & he was hoping he'd get a chance to say goodbye. He's a very pleasant younger guy that was the mailman here when I moved in 2 1/2 years ago. He knew everyone in the neighborhood by name always smiled & spoke whenever he'd see you. It'll be a little strange having a new mailman who I won't know what they look like behind their mask.

The Republicans are doing every thing they can to destroy the USPS and turn the business over to corporations like UPS and Fedex.

If that happens, I want to watch Republican Voter's faces when they pay ten bucks for a letter and twenty bucks to send a tiny package.......

I speak to my neighbors too.

I keep my distance, but we are all still neighborly.
