I have an infrared thermometer I bought a few years ago.

The only accurate reading, I think, I get is under my tongue. It usually reads about 94 to 95. My normal is 96 to 97. On the news they show them using ones like mine at airports and they scan foreheads. On my forehead it alway reads 88.
Anyone else have one or knows anything about about them?

Really cheap at Harbor Freight, about $20. Years ago I had an expensive infrared, hand held camera. It was lots of fun and not cheap. I'd think you could use one of those for crowds and find anyone with a high fever much easier.

there is a trick to using them. My friend had to start using them in her dental office and she measured 68. They have since worked with them and get more accurate readings. Maybe if you could find some instructions on the internet it would help.

under the tongue seem to work best for me, except after you drink or eat something hot or could. Ask her where they point it or if the compensate for for where on the body they point it.
Thanks.

see her tomorrow.
My nephew uses them in his business repairing and replacing transmissions in large equipment. I guess the temp needs to be taken in several locations of an engine. He also tests his employees now too.

when I did Home energy audits. It was great. I hear for $99 you can get an attachment for your IPhone now. I might have to try that.
Those FLIRs are great and you can find used ones for about half the price.

Here is an FLIR one for your phone for $199. and I think there maybe cheaper ones'
