Trump, who watches way too much fucking TV, seemed to be responding to Whitmer's appearance on CNN, where she criticized his administration for the lack of available testing kits, masks, hand sanitizer, and other supplies.
Whitmer said the Trump administration didnt take (coronavirus) seriously enough on the front end. Thats no secret: Trump has repeatedly downplayed the threat of the virus.
This whole episode should be surprising to absolutely no one. After all, Trump was impeached for threatening to withhold federal aid to Ukraine if the country didnt announce an investigation into his rival, Joe Biden. The request was for Trumps political gain, not the countrys interests.
And remember, Trump made the request to Ukraine the very next day after Special Counsel Robert Mueller testified in a televised congressional hearing over the investigation into whether he colluded with Russia in interfering with the 2016 election. Mueller let Trump off the hook then.
After all this, Congress voted not to remove Trump from office for abuse of power. The only thing Trump has learned is that he can get away with this shit.
So much for quid pro quo. When it comes to Trump, thats a one-way street.

(34,341 posts)That lowlife just can't stand to be challenged by a woman. He seems to be reacting differently to Whitmer than Inslee. There's more viciousness in his response to our governor. And it will all come home to roost in November. Unless they find a way to completely hijack the voting machines which I guess isn't beyond the realm of possibility. Fuck.

(16,993 posts)of childhood abuse. They hate the parent who failed to protect them more than the parent who abused them. Not quite sure why but my theory is the abuse happened when the parent was out of control so they are held blameless. The failure to protect was a choice. Its easier to understand loosing control than it is to understand why someone would choose not to protect their own child. From what Ive read, Twitlers dad was a real piece of work and his mother placed great value on the things her husbands wealth afforded her. I doubt she would have been willing to jeopardize that to pressure him to temper his actions towards their son.
