How many people seriously believe we will not have an election in November and why?

Under what circumstances would we not be able to have an election?

If there's no election, the constitution says we will have President Schumer. I'm OK with that. PSPS Mar 2020 #3

if I remember correctly), Trump and Pence would be out of office at noon on January 20, 2021 if there is on election I don't know if Roberts would allow the Supreme Court to overturn that requirement.

And he will leave office after he loses.

He is an unqualified attention whore and all around idiot, but not an aspiring dictator - that would be too much work.

The terms of all house members, 1/3 of the senate (mostly republicans) and the president/vice president all end next January with or without an election. The elections are the only way any of these are granted a new term.

And run the same risk others in this position have: He's a caretaker until he can set up elections to replace himself.

Very often, one thing after another turns out to be sufficient for postponing the elections yet again ... and again ... and again.

It's the President pro tempore. For some reason, the Majority and Minority Leaders are not in the line of succession.

Schumer would be the Majority Leader in that situation, and they are not in that line of succession. Patrick Leahy would be President, since he would be the pro tempore with the Democrats in charge.

But of this virus isn't under control by then, or re-emerged for a 2nd wave in the fall, I can see turnout cratering.

but I can't put it out of the realm of possibility because this administration does whatever they want to with the full support of congressional republicans.

What is more likely is that they get a bunch of red state governors together in an attempt to throw the election to the house and give it to him that way.

The reason: they won't give up power easily.

I hope that it all goes well, but I expect that there will be corruption on a scale we can't even imagine.

Or rather I don't think Trump has anything specific planned.

It could happen of course, but more likely just the usual tricks to win the election.
