Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro suggested without evidence that Brazilians have a natural immunity for the coronavirus.

He said on Thursday Brazilians "never catch anything" — adding that they can swim in sewage "and nothing happens."

Bolsonaro has been criticized for not taking the coronavirus outbreak seriously, and ignored doctors' advice to self-isolate even after officials close to him tested positive.

At least 77 people have died of COVID-19 in Brazil so far.

Death Cult. I guess that was the authoritarian game all along...march a % of useless eaters into oblivion. He's saying what the other authoritarians will not get away with but would try it if they thought it would work.

The high rise urban dwellers went to the windows to beat pots and pans when he came on TV with his insulting remarks, the whole country is appalled.
The Executives of the Public Health System, all governors of the states, most of the population including the media giant O Globo are criticizing his remarks. He called the Covid19 "nothing more than a little cold" and to lock up the elderly while the younger generations go to work as usual.

The population generally is ignoring him. They are passing regulations at the state level and everyone, for the most part, is complying.

They have the military and the police patrolling the cities and asking for documents, the mass transit is getting disinfected by the military. This is day 4 of the isolation at home for most of the country. Bars, restaurants, commerce, everything is closed.
Only essential services are open.

This is where the problem will be.
The shanty communities that surround the center cities are predominately makeshift and extremely dense in population. In one small house will live 3 generations of a family. This is a deep problem.

Another big problem will be the collapse of the health system when it gets to overload. Even in private hospitals there is a big concern of understaffed, underpaid and inexperienced personnel working.

Bolsonaro has his followers, like lardass. But for the most part, the country is on high alert and attentive to what is occurring internationally. Tourism is down to nothing, all airline carriers have cut routes to near 0.

I was there earlier this month. I will not be going back anytime soon. Brazil may be the perfect storm with the dengue and the regular flu season starting up this time of year as well.
