March 9, 2020 - Trump donated *nearly 18 tons** of vital medical supplies -- to THAILAND

https://www.usaid.gov/asia-regional/press-releases/mar-9-2020-us-provides-personal-protective-equipment-royal-thai-covid-19

Monday, March 9, 2020
BANGKOK, THAILAND — United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Regional Development Mission for Asia Mission Director Peter A. Malnak handed over personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ministry of Public Health in Nonthaburi today as part of the United States’ assistance to Thailand to respond to novel coronavirus disease COVID-19, first identified in Wuhan, China. This assistance package comes at the request of the Thai Ministry of Public Health.

The equipment includes 10,000 gloves, 5,000 surgical masks, 5,000 surgical gowns, 5,000 respirator masks, 5,000 shoe covers, 5,100 surgical caps, 2,500 face shields, and 500 protective goggles. The Royal Thai Government will distribute this equipment to health clinics in areas in greatest need of the supplies.

AND WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH FLORIDA? Why is FEMA trying to kill anyone who doesn't live or work in Florida? Is it because Moldy-Lardo is there?

Amount of medical supplies the feds have shipped to various states, relative to amount requested:

Massachusetts 17%
Maine 5%
New York 2%

(and wait for it...)
Florida 200%

1. I'm confused. Your heading says "donated ... - to China"

but the article seems to say "part of the United States’ assistance to Thailand"

Florida is a battleground state with a GOP Governor

2. Changed it. I don't care what kind of state Florida is. This is life and death.

While I know we're talking about a psychopath - this *shouldn't* make any difference.

All states should get what they request if possible. Period. No less. And no more.

It's outrageous.

"Vote for me as a state or you will all die from the virus."

or

"Hey, if we take care of all the battleground states at the expense of everyone else, that can help me win the election"

He's going to do the same thing with the stimulus. Watch.

Trump's going to use the $billions as his personal slush fund to buy votes, curry favor, pay off his Mar-a-Lago cronies, threaten people and enforce loyalty. He'll stonewall any congressional oversight, claim executive privilege to prevent Mnuchin or any member of his administration from testifying, force congress to file lawsuits, and drag the whole thing out for years.

Hopefully, he'll lose in November so Biden's DOJ can add embezzlement to his long list of crimes.

There are murders in progress of about 80,000 of the 81,000 Americans who are going to die unnecessarily by July because of this rabid dog.

Now, this sick phuck is angling to profit from it financially and/or politically.

I hope he catches this virus and wheezes to death like the 80,000 Americans he's condemned to die that way. That would curtail his financial and political gain.

That's Karma.

8. February 7, 2020, the US donated 17.8 tons of PPE to China. No Fed effort for U.S. States

FU America!

This week the State Department has facilitated the transportation of nearly 17.8 tons of donated medical supplies to the Chinese people, including masks, gowns, gauze, respirators, and other vital materials...

The U.S. did not donate 17.8 tons of PPR, it FACILITATED the TRANSPORTATION of donations.

A cargo 747 carries well over 100 tons of cargo. So basically what the U.S. did here was provide a single free plane ride for the stuff (which had been donated by others).

1) No where in the link is there anything referring to 18 tons

2) the 30k items listed would likely fill about 50 boxes

3) USAID would have sourced the material in factories in Thailand and simply made an effort to assist the Thai government with a modest donation to one of the poorest regions.

I know that Thai factories are ramping production for air transport to the US, are you really begrudging that a small percentage of the increase be sent to poor areas in Thailand?

I for one fail to see the distinction of providing PPE to American Doctors or brown skinned Thai doctors in poor areas. The later are a much more scarce resource than the former.

I have been worrying about the threadbare medical staff that serve the 20 million refugees in camps that I used to work at and where they are exposed to Malaria and Dengue Fever ( which almost killed me in a camp) and now the Coronavirus.

Perhaps we should send the Marines in to grab all the PPE from every poor country and every refugee camp. Let me point out that it wasn't the Thais that fired the NSC staff responsible for Pandemic preparedness.

Some of the posts here sicken me with exactly the same kind of economic nationalism that is at the core of Trumpism.

or balance or perspective .. or anything like that. Just get a big headline up there.

And you're right .. the amounts of supplies involved .. laughable!

10,000 gloves, 5,000 surgical masks, 5,000 surgical gowns, 5,000 respirator masks, 5,000 shoe covers, 5,100 surgical caps ...

Thanks for calling this one out. It was certainly deserving!

first people gripe because America is being put first and not helping other countries enough. Now they gripe because America is helping another country with a minimal amount of emergency supplies.
