This morning I said FUCK IT... I'm going to eat what I crave.
So I had two big bowls of buttery yellow grits for breakfast.
And for lunch two links of spicy smoked boudin.
And just now I had potato chips sprinkled with habanero sauce.
And tonight... who knows... I'm thinking a cheddar cheese quesadilla.

I wonder if she knows I was serious?
And now Im drinking wine. And trying not to think.

(4,858 posts)...back in the days of civilization--and doesn't that already feel like another age of the world?--I'd eat two meals a day, and a late snack. Brunch-lunch would usually be an excursion to McDonald's or Popeye's, and an easy 1000 calories. Now, I just have a sandwich, usually turkey bologna and cheese, because I'm too stressed to eat more. I have a normal dinner, and maybe crackers and peanut butter before bed. I've lost six pounds the past two weeks...

(72,300 posts)So I eat whatever I think I'll consume the most of. A few days it was 12 ounces of Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream for supper. They don't sell it in 16 ounce pints anymore.

Not eating out like I did a lot before the lockdown. So this might be a good thing for me, weightwise.

(14,272 posts)For dinner it is potato salad, 4 oz of pork, and strawberries. It is low calorie and small portions.
I would rather be gorging at a buffet, so, yes. It is a really bad dietary day.

(10,419 posts)Not necessarily the healthiest diet, but it's fine to bridge what the local stores can offer in fresh. And a good excuse to dig into the Haagen=Daaz taking up space in the freezer.
Mr. pig forages once or twice a week and says bread is in short supply. Lots of empty shelves that he can't remember used to be stocked with.
All I can say is, if the cable goes out we are in BIG trouble!

(33,643 posts)A lot of times, I want something pretty healthy but by no means all. And even when eating well, I don't watch fat or salt all that much.
Although I'm mellow on the sweets, I like an awful lot of fried stuff. Chicken, chips, and french fries in particular.
But hey, Mr. L. is here for a good time, not a long time ...

(2,500 posts)A mish-mosh of leftovers from the refrigerator in a tomato base, fresh vegetables, and Italian seasoning. Will freeze the leftovers as a base for another pot later.
Since I haven't been working, I'm not burning the calories I used to, so making healthy lower calorie meals a few days a week.

(4,588 posts)So far about 5 lbs. Ive been moved to the kitchen at work and we snack. A lot. I never realized how much back of house eats, lol!
Plus, everyone has been bringing in homemade cookies and cupcakes and stuff to share amongst the 6 of us to keep morale up. My boss baked pizzas for us yesterday.
I need to take the snacking down a notch or three. I blame the dishwasher and his love of ice cream. Hes a bad influence.
