This may be the reason Trump extended social distancing.

Inside Trump’s risky push to reopen the country amid the coronavirus crisis

When Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) called President Trump last Sunday, he delivered a blunt message: If you reopen the nation’s economy too early against the advice of public-health experts, you will own the deaths from the novel coronavirus that follow.

Trump’s stalwart ally also warned that the president wouldn’t be the only one held responsible. Graham said the Republican Party itself risks being defined ahead of this fall’s elections as prioritizing commerce and the stock market over the health and safety of the American people, according to three White House officials and a GOP lawmaker who spoke on the condition of anonymity to comment frankly.

he's clearly jonesing for some rallies. Somebody else will talk him into going back the other way - probably the evilgelicals, who really, really want those megachurches open to empty the pockets of the Bible-banging rubes.

Maybe if ivanka gets it he might actually notice. Of course he’d probably try humping her corpse. He has sunk so low I don’t feel guilty about any bad thing I can think to say about him.

..Donald Trump made fun of this crises in the beginning. Like it was a joke. That will come back to haunt Trump and he will be held responsible for all of it. Further, the Republican Party itself is now being defined as the party that could care less about the health and safety of the American people..

Yes, right now that is happening, as Trump tries to lie and lie some more about what has happened and how others were responsible...Like blaming Cuomo. Trump and Republicans will pay the price in November.

of trump* and the Republican party. It's way past time for warnings about screwing up and being accused of putting money before people. It's done, it's on full display.

You own it. All of you own the blame, and it's not going away. Ever.

He wants and needs his rallies. He's been doing them on a regular basis since 2016. While on "hiatus," he's afraid that the spell could be broken and the base won't necessarily return.

The governors of various states have made the closure orders, and even though a lot of people aren't following them very well, he cannot override them.
