Something tells me that Wyoming is not testing...(or barely)... See:

https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/en Scroll down to the map.

Quite the outlier--even WV and AK have gotten with the program. Yes, it is a wide open state, but there are population centers. If they are not testing to any degree, as I suspect, this is going to come back and bite them.

I found a site that shows they have performed 1641 tests. 33taw Mar 2020 #1
With a 2018 population of 577,737, that isn't much; I believe even AK has tested more. hlthe2b Mar 2020 #2
I agree. Many red states have low testing rates 33taw Mar 2020 #8
It is more scary to see the percentage of testing of the overall population in states like Texas. 33taw Mar 2020 #10
Sure... But, still it gives a very skewed view of transmission, even in sparsely populated areas. hlthe2b Mar 2020 #11

Eagle CO is real hotspot due to international & domestic skiers coming into Vail, Beaver Creek hlthe2b Mar 2020 #13
Maybe, but even as a hotspot, the percentages don't make sense to me. Jeffco has nearly a half 33taw Mar 2020 #14
The testing isbecause of so many hospitalized in Eagle. Since that is the current bias. hlthe2b Mar 2020 #15

Texas has 9 million more people, but nearly a 136,000 less tests. Texas is way understated.

I found it odd that Eagle county in Colorado has such a large testing percentage, I am guessing it has to do with wealth. Eagle county is much smaller than Jeffco, yet the numbers of positives are comparable. San Miguel county is going to test every citizen.

I live in a small rural community in WI. Testing has been small, but transmission is also related to density. We will likely get hit later down the road as it moves to the north and middle of the state.

million people. I am glad they are testing, but there are some anomalies that seem odd throughout the country. Red states are defiantly testing at a much smaller rate than blue states.

That was what caused the GOV to close down the ski resorts.

Eagle has 187 cases with a permanent population of 54,772
Jefferson has 213 cases with a 10x the population of 574,613

it's still 5.97 people per square mile across the state, with Cheyenne's less than 60,000 the largest population center.

We have way more than that on the beach in a good day. I think that may be one block in Brooklyn. OK, maybe 2 blocks.

Here's what Wyoming says they're doing:

they are sending people to Eugene (55 miles) to get tested. No one seems to know how many have been sent over there, but the keep reporting "no confirmed cases" in our town of 9000. We'll see. I'm acting like everyone is crawling with the Black Death.

Wyoming and Hawaii. Hawaii is the bluest state in the Union. Clinton got 62% of the vote, no Republicans in statewide office, no Republicans in the congressional delegation, 1 Republican in the state Senate out of 25 and 5 Republicans out of 51 in the state House of Representatives.
