A reality all Americans need to understand:

Nothing will get better so long as Donald Trump is the President of the United States.

Self-deception and propaganda is not going to change that fact.

He is a threat to everyone, not just Democrats.

Play with fire and you will get burned.

it won't save us all, sadly.

the free press could stop pretending that trump is something that he isn't. i'm sick to death of hearing their surprise at his behavior. he ain't changing.

the press could be our savior. It could unite and constantly ask Trump tough questions, doing less makes them complicit in his coronavirus rallies.

Like Yamiche Alcindor and Jim Acosta. He uses them as foils of the "fake news", the "deep state", the "hoax", the "enemy of the people".

What should they be doing differently?

I do agree that this is a problem. I just don't know how they should handle it differently, now that he is inviting his own reporters to his news conferences?

I suppose they could stop showing them altogether? But that is not the decision of the reporters who are attempting to do their jobs.

stop airing it live. provide the truthful, meaningful information that may be conveyed and skip the trump worship, lies and self-aggrandizement.

when a reporter is abused by trump, call it out. I like the idea of the next person he calls asking the very same question. until he actually answers or explodes and falls down. stop acting as if it's acceptable that he heaps abuse on people who are asking totally valid questions of a president.

i think they should go ahead and present the pathologies that hinder trump from behaving normally. nobody acts like him! stop acting as if that's not true. Discuss narcissism, sociopathy, sadism, cruelty, and apply them to trump. they fit. i feel as if the entire country is an abused spouse who cannot see a way out.

the press is the 4th estate I think? they are part of the bedrock of a democracy. that means bringing the truth. instead, they continue to bring a reality show.

and so what pisses me off! is that they won't do any of this. it's been years now. and now we're trying to get through the worst pandemic in over 100 years, with trump at the helm. it's absolutely a worst-case scenario and his daily rallies are not helping anything but his ratings, which could plausibly result in another 4 years of the worst administration in the history of this nation.

Fortunately our governors, or at least some of them, are standing up to him. I have lived in Oklahoma City over thirty years and I was astonished when our new governor placed us in "lock down" 2 weeks ago. Amazed he believes in science, not prayer as a reliable cure.

some very high-level business officers got them by the nape of their necks and told them to get their ass in gear and stop the spread so they can get back to making profits.

In Oklahoma, think in terms of oil which was already in trouble before the pandemic. They need America out driving around again.

Just thinking historically, that big business is the only entity Rethugs listen to.....

up to the fact that they were 100% behind this disaster of a president. They encouraged everything he did, refused to impeach him even with overwhelming evidence of his incompetence and lies. They are STILL trying to convict Hillary, while "their" guy has continued to screw over the entire US population, if not the world. They have shown time after time that they do not know how to run this country, without screwing up. Backing up a con artist, with a background in TV hucksterism was the worst mistake EVER.

of the GOP during and after Nixon and Reagan. Of course perhaps that rot was there all along and we couldn't see it in my country farming town, since we judged the GOP only by a few of them in town like the rich doctor and only a few of the store owners. Everyone else in town were Democrats (the years of Al Gore, Sr.). After I started college, I began to pay attention.

Regardless, it's gotten worse with time as we recall names like Agnew, Gingrich, Cheney and Ralph Reed.....

.....and Bob Dole bitching about taxes on TV every week.

There's that old saying "Republicans cannot govern" which is true because they don't want to govern and don't believe it's worth their effort to try and govern something they're trying to destroy.

When we consider the almost immeasurable amount of money that's behind them, I suppose it becomes easier to see why they just don't give a shit. When you have enough money to buy your way out of any consequences of your actions, why worry?

I also came to the conclusion some years ago during my amateur study of psychology that the GOP attracts many of America's natural-born psychopaths into their fold as both voters and politicians, thus explaining their total lack of moral compass.

KY rant done.........

Yes. True, historically.

NOW they also to listen to Russia the NRA and that self-absorbed moron occupying our White House.

It appears to me that our chicks in charge have more balls than the entire gop.

Voters rights (to register) and VOTE BY MAIL FOR ALL is now necessary. Rigorous Exit polling needs to be done and published.

They can't win if they can't cheat and get away with it.

Ranked choice voting is next. I want to vote for a candidate, and have my lesser of two evils second choice count and I'm not the only one.

Is we find out trumps so compromised by Putin, along with many republicans in our Congress, and are working for him now to intentionally hurt our country. The pandemic panel dissolved, firing intel related to pandemic threats, the inaction making testing and ppe's and ventilators , all from Putin , and designed to get his revenge against, and now he's got trump pushing lifting putins oil sanctions, and while he's working to get trump and the GOP re-elected in exchange for it. Is trump working for Putin is a very valid question now more than ever. Until Putin and trump are gone we will continue to worsen here.
