General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsShould reporters anticipate Trump's responses and fashion their questions around them?
For example:
"If there are only a half-million deaths from this crisis, and since some experts have said there could be over two million, would you see that as a success?"
(Knowing that he is going to attempt to portray the number of dead as a victory)
I think the reporters need to really prepare and work on their questions. They need to ask questions that anticipate his answers.
I think they need to trap him in his lies and disinformation if he wants to continue these charades of news conferences.

(110,950 posts)The problem is that it is not the reporters decisions whether or not to be there. It is their bosses. They don't want to be fired. They want to keep their jobs. Since they have to be there, they could be a little more creative with their questions, in my opinion.
Another example: (Since he tends to interrupt any question that he senses he may not like)
The reporter should simply ask: 'May I ask my question?"

(59,940 posts)issues than they solve. the only way to stop this trump bullshit is turn them off, don't watch, don't cover - the doctors can come up with another means to get real info out there.
Watching them and covering them simply supports trump.

(14,491 posts)They should let trump do his spiel, then direct all questions to the professionals. This will drive him mad, being ignored. if you think he gets snippy now, wait until he's furious and snippy <--- this is what his white house staff is hiding from the public.
