but rent in Seattle for a two bedroom apartment is twice that $1200.
They have to up the ante if they expect people to eat and like that.
To stimulate the economy is gonna take more than couch-cushion money.

To someone living in Waco, TX, a $1200 check is a windfall. To someone living in mid-town Manhattan, it's a few days' rent. Besides, the person living in Texas will pay a tax rate the New Yorker can only dream of. With State AND City income taxes, my daughter was paying almost the same tax rate I pay here in Germany. Of course, now she is paying nothing at all, since her job evaporated. Now she gets up at 4:30 AM to work her volunteer job bringing food and necessities to people who can't leave their apartments.
