Pence task force freezes coronavirus aid amid backlashThe review came after officials discovered that aid to foreign countries wasn't being coordinated with U.S. requests.
The Trump administration has frozen all overseas shipments of USAIDs stockpiles of protective medical gear following mass confusion over which resources are needed inside the United States, Politico reports.
The moratorium was brought in following an embarrassing mix-up in Thailand. A Trump official asked the Thais if they could send protective gear to the U.S., only to told by them that a U.S. shipment of the same supplies was already on its way to Bangkokthe second of two such deliveries.

(46,699 posts)This might turn out to be the story of how the State Department helped private companies to send tons of medical supplies to foreign countries, just to buy them back at exorbitant prices. So the story of private corporations and private individuals doing a humanitarian gesture is pure bullshit.

(3,063 posts)If I send aid in the form of medical supplies to a foreign country.
Then I ask them to sell me said equipment back.
I can look like a hero and cash in at the same time.
