Trump does not know how to sell hope. And that is costing him dearly. Yesterday he said we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. That simply is not true. The fact is, we have a long way to go yet. While Fauci, Brix, and the Surgeon General might be trying to prepare us for what is coming, Trump has to flip-flop on people going back to work and selling false hope. That false hope caused a jump in the markets today. When todays numbers on infected and deaths come out, todays upswing in the market will simply be reversed on the following day. The only thing Trump is doing is causing chaos and setting false expectations that are going to be his end.

(12,712 posts)It is a double entendre to me.
When he said that, i was taking it at that "light" it is said one sees at the end of the tunnel when you die, which is more apropos in this case. In that case, many people may be seeing it thanks to his quest for total power and the ruination of our government and everything else he can get his tiny mitts on.
