I Designed A Badge For The Mask Brigade

Sitting here thinking of those who contributed from the sidelines during previous wars, and who marched in parades celebrating victory. I designed this while talking with my sister, who was standing outside a fabric store waiting to get inside. The store was only letting 10 people in at a time, and those in line were 6 feet apart. She is making masks for her local police department and other first responders. Another friend is making masks for rural nursing homes, who are running out of supplies. I envisioned the Mask Brigade, marching in the parade, carrying their portable sewing machines or sewing baskets, seam rippers in hand, fighting the good fight and doing whatever it takes, no matter how small, to help others.

5. My wife has been doing this for weeks, amd I have been helping by

gathering materials and delivering the finished masks to the hospital and clinics. Weeks ago she put together a network of ladies from her quilting club and together they have made hundreds of masks. Our hospitals have not been hit hard yet, and they have plenty of PPEs for now so these masks are being issued to the employees to wear outside of work and for non-patient contact people to wear at work.
