One could argue the American people are more insane than Trump himself.

It's insane, there is not a nation wide call for Trump to resign.

It's insane, the American people are sitting home watching Trump get tens of thousands Americans killed, through his incompetence and madness. The people, the news media respond by saying this is bad what Trump is doing, then take no action to stop this mad man.

It's insane, the Democrats in congress, Democratic organizations, news organizations are not calling for Trump to resign.

It's insane, The American people, the news media are dealing with Trump the same way they always have. They point out all the crazy shit Trump is doing and then do nothing about it.

It's like the American people are just sitting there waiting for Trump to kill them. It's fucking insane.

There are some people protesting, some people threatening to walk off their jobs, not nearly enough. There needs to be a nation wide protest for Trump to resign. Anything less is insane.

I did my part protesting. I left my job, unpaid leave. I told management, you are not protecting us, the county health department is not protecting us and Trump is not protecting us, I'm out of here until further notice. I did not ask their permission. Fuck all of them. Imagine if every employee at my job did what I did. That would change things. It's hard to change things when you have to fight alone.

The problem is that millions voted for this cheap thug, the greater part of them doing so because he was so obviously a cheap thug, not despite his being a cheap thug. A great many people in our country want a cheap thug to embody our state, and they do because they want to see themselves reflected in their ruler.

...that the anathema they voted for is exactly what they purport to detest, you know, those who they perceive to be grifters (the unemployed, the disabled, the other, etc...) and now the elderly - FFS!

There is a great pretense made of having great respect for honest labor, but what we actually honor is the grifter, the fella who finds a way around, the promoter, the sharp trickster, and the lucky speculator. No one is so looked down upon as the person who accepts a wage for honest work.

I believe what you say is true about modern day politicians and what they believe, rather than what most people believe. Look at most of the pols. You'd be hard-pressed to find a callus on any of their hands. Hard work is usually honest work. And yes, there is a segment of society that does look down upon certain groups of low-income earners. It's despicable. And Deplorable.

This is one of those instances where what people say is quite different from what they actually feel. The people who most despise men and women who do honest work for a wage are the people who go out and earn a wage themselves. In a rigidly class-bound society, however miserable his lot might be, no peasant who looks in the mirror to shave ever says to himself 'You know, you could have been a Duke if you'd applied yourself.' But damn near every American looking in a mirror has said 'You could have been rich, and it's your own damn fault you're not." Not necessarily every day, but on several occasions at least.

"In a Democracy which is also a society of winners and losers, any man without an equalizer, or at least the illusion of one, is by definition underprivileged."

They have decided to go "all in" for the November election. They are putting everything on the table. There is no back-up plan if Trump wins.

America will be gone.

That's how insane it is.

Republicans are a sniveling bunch of cowards.

They are the enemy of America.

If Putin and Republicans rig the election and Trump gets 4 more years I fear what's coming. The governor of Mississippi just declared "Confederate Heritage" month. He says he's not a racist. If Trump gets 4 more years, people like that governor and others will openly admit that they are racist. Shit we're almost there now.

Trump has made America like "Farenheit 451," "1984," and "A Brave New World," all rolled into one.

need to go on TV and not say that Trump was slow to respond, say that Trump and Congressional Republicans have blood on their hands. Republicans are so much better at messaging and they do it while telling lies.

Hey Gillibrand and Schumer I'm looking at you and AOC. Stop being nice, stop being civil, people are dying.

Tue Apr 7, 2020, 10:30 AM

is that the American people are paying for decades of Republicans destroying the public education system. The Republicans want the people to be fat, dumb, intellectually lazy and passive. They provide food and circus for the peasants to keep us that way. They don't want people with critical thinking skills and a functioning bullshit meters; education is the enemy of the type of Fascist government we live under. Republicans believe that the only valuable education is vocational, so that we learn how to take care of their needs effectively and cheaply. It will take decades of decent leadership to begin to reverse the process; two generations at a minimum.

We may not be able to restore the country through the broken political process, it may take pitchforks and guillotines to get rid of the Fascists and restore the government to the people instead of the corporations and their hired hands in Washington. I don't see that happening, for as Steppenwolf warned us long ago:

'Cause the people grew fat and got lazy
And now their vote is a meaningless joke
They babble about law and order
But it's all just an echo of what they've been told
Yeah, there's a monster on the loose
