My family and I have been to hell and back twenty times in this life.

We have played by the rules and have done everything asked of us. We scraped and clawed our way out of medical debt, and now just when we are close to having a tiny semblance of peace, we find ourselves in the struggle of our lives just trying to survive.

Making it all exponentially worse a soulless vapid evil dictator is busy night and day raping everything he can get his sub human hands on.

The icing on the cake it could be years before I can hug my grand babies.

I am very distraught and angry. Just can’t stop the tears today,

It’s especially infuriating when we try to do everything right, take care of our families, pay our bills, save our money, obey the law, and life throws us in the gutter while the odious self absorbed criminals and grifters always come out smelling like a rose.

But I would be pretty sure California doesn't open on May 4. Our kids' schools are basically shut down for the rest of the academic year (through early/mid June). I'm assuming you're in CA based on your name.

Also try to call all of your creditors (banks, credit card companies, landlords, etc) now. Most everyone is giving at least 2-3 months grace without a penalty or credit score reduction. Channel the sadness as best you can and turn it to settle things down financially as best as you can then.

Then be outraged when you're ready.

But we're all in this together. Thank the Good Lord (etc) that we have a decent and intelligent governor like Gavin Newsom. I would be pretty sure that CA will be shut down after May 4 given that he was pretty clear about the schools throughout the state being shut for the remainder of the academic year.

We are all in this together. DU is a GREAT place for this. Remember BHO's last lines of his 2012 victory speech. It may be idyllic, but it is still true to me (especially in CA):

I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We’re not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are, and forever will be, the United States of America.

Seemingly going from one crisis to another; medical, financial, emotional, and back again. You spend so much time managing through the tough times that you develop an innate sense for it. Almost like a clock that tells you when things are about to go south. You spend so much time waiting for the other shoe to drop that you think fondly on the periods of time when nothing was happening. Not the joyous times in life but the ones where literally nothing was happening..... In any case . I'd say things will get better but who the hell knows anymore

When my son was in Iraq I found this group. It helped me immensely. Now we are in another crisis. My daughter called me in tears this morning. My Marine vet son called me yesterday and talked for an hour. Trying to calm them and comfort remotely while trying to stay calm and helping them through these frightening times is very difficult. I am trying to keep myself mentally strong and healthy for them and my husband. In the meantime, my sister has the virus, so last week was hell on earth when I worried about whether she would make it. Like all of you, we can't see our kids or grandchildren, if you have them, and we are all missing so many milestones in their lives. We did a family Zoom on Sunday. It really helped. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

Many of us are fighting a series of things. Inactivity, dictatorship, the virus. Don't know what the purpose of it all is right now, don't know when or if it will change, I hear the uncertainty in the words of others, no one knows what to do. Plan purposeful activities parts of each day. Personally I find it very worthwhile to read fiction, or biography, it takes me out of the moment for an hour or two. Don't really know what to say to people I know, because I know we're all in this boat together in many ways, and don't want to make their situation worse.

Make plans for all possibilities good or bad, and all possible time horizons. Do good. I planted some chives in a few pots today, they will grow for years. Also taking relaxing tea. Savor the moment.

This will be just time for us to hopefully enact massive change in the country. I don’t think it’s too far to think that we will finally get a single payer medical system, we’ll finally get a more robust social security system, and (hopefully) corporations and the influence they have on our economy and political system will be curbed.

I want to see policies that tax corporations heavy, so they can pay for the destruction they cause on our economy when their destructive policies drive them to implode and we’re forced to dole out trillions and of dollars to prop them back up.

You are blessed with a wicked smart Governor, who believes in science and not bullshit spewing from trump's press conferences. The states are finding ways to circumvent the treacherous pirates in the executive branch. My Governor Brown up here in OR (howdy neighbor), is also competent and joined with Newsom and Inslee in the beginning to follow the science and do the right thing by our country.

I too, clawed my way back from medical debt catastrophe... I was tracheostomy ventilated because of ARDS for months. In and out of medical coma. When I graduated out of the hospital unit I was in, the nurses through me a little party. There were balloons tied to my bed. I didn't understand and couldn't talk, because I was still traec'd. They told me it was because it was rare someone left their unit alive. So, I know what it's like to have your lungs fill with fluid over and over, that feeling of drowning. When I left that unit, I was taught how to suction my own lungs... then, unfortunately, my ass was back in their unit a short time later. Not sure how long I was there, but in between, I was transferred to the heart unit. I was in hospital for 5 months fighting for my life.

I know what these people are going through, what their families are going through. The news of all this has my traec scar tissue hurting again every time I swallow, I had gotten to where I could ignore it. Now though, it's a constant reminder of what is happening to people all over the world.

Stay strong, do not let yourself be consumed by the evil of trump. Read the good stuff about winners and survivors. You totally got this!

medical I've been through. The ARDS was part of an even bigger picture including spinal MRSA.

I figure, after all the laxatives docs put me on with the pain meds, I've probably shit turds bigger than trump.

Honest, we will get through this. When we come out on the other side, we will have our dignity and honor intact, unlike those in the cult. Our country will shed the plague of trump and his boils. Some how, find a way each day, to put a smile on your face, a spring in your step and strength to help someone who needs a hand up who is struggling even more than we are.

Plus, DU always got your back.
