(4,845 posts)I left CNN after 2016 with their "giving voices from both sides" but heavily given more airtime for Trump crazies. But MSNBC got on my nerve with Trump's press conference. No, Brian Williams, not all eyes are on Trump's presser.
When CNN is not doing political news, it's such a better programming (which they were before Trump entered the scene).

(11,085 posts)Howard Dean never disappoints me. He says what he means, means what he says, and does the right thing each and every time. I applaud his courage and his willingness to put leadership over access.

(511 posts)to control his gaslighting early. They started cutting away when he was talking, then would go back when Faucci or someone else was talking. But then Lump would quickly cut back in and the cameras would stick. They should do what Nicole Wallace suggested: tape the press conference, review it for anything useful/relevant (not 15 minutes of kissing Dear Weeder's Ass), and then show those portions. Right now MSNBC is doing the exact same shit it did in the lead up to the 2016 election, giving Orange Foolius 100's of millions of dollars worth of free campaign advertising.

(9,939 posts)Should be boycotting the advertisers on Fox news. Not MSNBC

(111,174 posts)I turned broadcast news off for the last time in 2004, have never found a reason to turn them back on.
You Tube has supplied me with video, often raw and without commentary by blow dried bobbleheads, of major events around the world and a combination of print and the net fills in the blanks.
In addition, I found the Simpson's reruns on during the news hour to be much more topical and informative than broadcast news and displayed a hell of a lot more wit.
So welcome to a small and exclusive club, Doc. Put your feet up and watch your blood pressure normalize over time.

(4,619 posts)With the daily campaign events.
They (the media) do it a little bit, but the fact that the president is a bald faced liar in the middle of a pandemic trying to re-write history is unacceptable.
There.

(54,302 posts)And they won't stop--not just because of Howard, and he acknowledged it
But he was also correct in noting that if 50 more "guests" on these shows said the same thing, it WOULD make a difference. Of course, the chances of THAT happening are just about zero. The fees they get aren't huge. I was surprised to hear that it was only $250 per appearance, but if you do ten a week, it does add up if you have nothing else to do.
Plus, some people just like to see their faces on TV.
