Just throwing this out there.... not vetting by anyone else.
Remember a little while ago that Trump went to India and was hosted by the Indian royalty(and others)?
Well, it just so happens that Pankaj Patel(part of a large, whoa! wealthy Indian family of Patels), is the owner of a pharmaceutical company here in Pennington, NJ with 31 employees.
The pharmaceutical company is named: ZYDUS PHARMACEUTICAL
Guess what they make ???? HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE !!!
Pankaj Patel is worth $ 3.1 billion. Forbes magazine article. Chairman of Cadila Healthcare.
Now, this drug is an immunosuppressive drug . Why would you want to suppress the immune system when you get this virus? Aren't you supposed to bolster the immune system? This drug sounds opposite of what you should do.
Trump visited India in February 24-25, 2020. Could he have been lining up his push for a drug that was soon to be touted as a fix for a virus?

(92,108 posts)is where the immune system elicits an inflammatory response going out of control
Suppressing the immune system during such a crisis is the key
This "immune" response does not occur for everyone, which is why perhaps the Hydroxychloriquine may appear to work for some and not others.
Other immuno-suppressives may also be effective
The issue is there is a lot that is not known, such as who would be the ideal candidates for this, when would be the best time to administer it, early, middle, or late in the disease. What is the best effective dosage, what are the dangers of the drug, etc.
Just administering it willy nilly tells us very little, including if the recovery of the patient is due to the drug or if the patient would have gotten better by themselves
A lot of questions

(21,280 posts)It isn't just this company that Trump has ties with. Novartis also makes hydrocloroxidine and it gave Cohen 1.2 million dollars to get influence with Trump. I believe there is also a French company that makes it that is tied to Trump. What a grifter, he has bought millions of doses of the pill.
