What the governor of Florida doesn't know about the coronavirus is a lot

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/10/politics/florida-ron-desantis-coronavirus/index.html?fbclid=IwAR3Ri2XjwYQa5IrphXVCh5-zRNEoUx4_pTzHJXs6hmGCsEHQRG_e62SZG0k

The latest evidence of that came Thursday, when DeSantis sought to explain his thinking about potentially re-opening schools in the state. (So far 19 states have closed schools for the year.) Here's what DeSantis said:
"This particular pandemic is one where, I don't think nationwide there's been a single fatality under 25. For whatever reason it just doesn't seem to threaten, you know, kids."

DeSantan is a moron...for those of us who are educators in Florida he is dangerous.

Especially in view of the fact that they could be carriers and carry the CV into their homes, where they are people very vulnerable to the CV. Idiot. Trying to cherry pick where he's done good (in reality, none really), and in fact, is getting more exposed to the CV more than should be.

Some children have been hospitalized or worse after becoming infected with the coronavirus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday. At least three children have died.

In its first major report looking at the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on children, the CDC analyzed confirmed cases from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories that occurred between Feb.12 and April 2. U.S health officials examined 149,760 cases where age was known and found that 2,572 of the cases, or 1.7%, were younger than 18.

about 3 weeks ago, didn't wait for the government to say anything. They despise the governor. I hope all of my friends in FL (and elsewhere of course) all come out of this whole mess that should have never gotten to what it has it is now.

Best wishes to you and yours.

But Moron DeSatan has reached a whole new level of loathing from me. He thinks that his last name is Trump and he is doing everything he can to become one. I still believe that his election was not legal and that there was fraud involved in the votes.

He knows exactly what he is doing. Why he is doing it is more important.

Thinking him to be a moron is quite a good out though, so why give him an excuse. I am seeing that this ploy has now become a part of the GOP playbook. Do egregious things so extreme and counter-intuitive that your destruction will be all the more effective and more difficult to see through because: ineptitude. Brilliant!

Rubes and marks even think that they are "like them" because of that, so it has more than one useful value. You play the constituents as "one of them", (not at all of course) and amaze the progressives/liberals/democrats with the appearance of being incredibly ignorant. THOSE are the ones you have to watch out for because they are playing a confidence game similar to Trumps, and they have a joint purpose and goal.

It gets more nefarious when you consider he is acting willfully and with full knowledge. I will not give them the incompetence card. I am holding them to what they do as fully intentional and they are cognizant of the results they are creating.

If you take a look at some of the educational backgrounds of many Republicans, you can see that they are not really dimwits, but play it that way as a facade so that, the left particularly, will give them more cover by proclaiming how stupid they are, etc.

Oh, and another aspect of these upper echelon educations many have enjoyed is that they make connections, join honors fraternities and its good old boy all around.

our nation only 3 children are known to have died. Many get it but tend to have mild cases.

However, it's the nature of children to live with parents, to have grandparents, other relatives and friends and neighbors, who are far more likely to become dreadfully ill for weeks, and even die. Somehow I doubt a single intelligent parent in FL wouldn't be horrified at the thought of their orphaned children falling into the "care" of a child welfare system controlled by today's Republicans. Or growing up without the love of grandparents for whom they were once their greatest joy.

Teachers will be very vulnerable to infection because many kids will be carriers, so in a short time teachers will be dropping like flies.

The same applies to school administrators, maintenance personnel, crossing guards and bus drivers - all of which can expose each other as well.

This guy is seriously in need of a trip out behind the woodshed.......
