It's always hard to see the forest for the trees, but sometimes we have to try. The republican party has known for some years now that they cannot win national elections fairly. So they cheat. They also know that cheating is not going to work all the time. Their long term answer is what should frighten us all. They are done with the democratic system of government. While it's never been a perfect system, it does work. It has worked in various countries, in various forms, since it was invented by the Greek Solon a very long time ago. So it comes down to this: We either get rid of the republican party, or the republican party is going to get rid of democracy.
