Is it time for a general strike?

Trillions of dollars flowing freely to the rich and mega corporations while millions have yet to receive a penny. Many of our lowest paid workers are deemed essential and forced to work, many without insurance. An EMT working without insurance. Farmers plowing under crops and complaining that food from Mexico is to blame. Amazon workers risking their lives to ship non essential items.

We can’t protest by marching in the streets. But we can just not work or pay our bills.

Let essential people work everyone else out.
But a General Strike would have everyone IN THE STREETS.

Doubt you could get that to happen now.

And that's the message to get across. If we did so, demands should be made, like a certain bunch of somebodies would have to step down/resign, stating with MF45, Pence, McMoscow and Barr.

I mentioned this at least a week ago, what if we just decided to not go back to work until our demands are met? We could possibly make it to election if we manage to take care of each other.

My landlord and I are planning to grow a bunch of food, some for canning and other storage methods. I don't eat much meat and if I wanted some, I know enough local hunters to get some.

It can be done and I am thinking it might not be more painful than what we already have and certainly not what will come if we don't find a way to remove these criminals from our government.

And still a lot of others still working. That would light a fire under a lot of asses that are profiting from this so far. As long as the focus remains bailing out Wall Street and screwing the rest of us, it’s just another kleptocratic confiscation of the economy at the expense of everyone else.

I know it won’t happen but I’m a bit pissed off tonight.

the elderly and ill - and can't or shouldn't leave home, and therefore depend on those people just to get food and medicine. Do you want us to starve in our homes? Those people are still working for a reason.

What if they are diabetic or have other immediate life-or-death dietary requirements? What if they are elderly or ill and have no food at all? Are they supposed to wait "a few days" for a symbolic effort that won't make a damn bit of difference anyhow because so many people are already not working and already not paying their bills?

Would you rather it be controlled and with a purpose or just have it crumble?

I get what you are saying and largely agree. But the pot is simmering and I would not be shocked to see a lot of these workers who are deemed essential but not getting a living wage, benefits or basic protection saying “screw this” and quitting en masse.

are already under pressure because delivery services are suddenly under much heavier loads and backed up as a result, not to mention supply scarcity in some areas. I hear you.

Seriously. We are all at home not buying much, not working (most), bills are lowered as again not doing much. The main bills are housing water and electricity. I don’t think skipping those are a good idea.

Grocery workers dead, flight attendants dead, meat packers dead and being forced to work. Contrary to many of the erroneous comments, there are still many people who have had to continue working in unsafe conditions.
