OK, the MSM is making me mad.... Again!
For weeks we've watched Anthony Fauci spend too much energy balancing between telling us the unvarnished truth (and succeeding) and not ticking off Trump to the point of getting fired (hang in there!). What we DON'T need, is the media stirring up the appearance of conflict. Here are my best memories of what Fauci said and what the media is reporting. Come on guys!!! We need Fauci!!!!
Interviewer: Would more lives have been saved if we started these practices earlier.
Fauci: Well, you know, I don't think anyone would deny that if you have a practice that is working to save lives, you would have saved more if you started earlier. But it's very complicated. A lot of factors feed into this.
Media Headlines: Fauci says more lives would have been saved if we had started earlier.
To his credit, Jake Tapper did add, "when asked" to his reporting of what Fauci said. I wonder if this was a response to pressure from Fauci's people.

he knew Trump was checking every word. Reports from inside the WH are his waffling wasn't nearly dishonest enough.
As for the media, they've characterized him as the hero Americans need to see, and that he really is. Birx gets to be the Trump-serving witch almost as many love to hate; dancing backwards in high heels, a role that also serves.
