White House Source Says Trump Has Been Worried About Fauci For Some Time Now

During this pandemic, it has been a necessity for him to have infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci at his side during the daily briefings on the COVID-19 crisis.

Of course, we have all seen the viral photo of Fauci facepalming at comments Trump made from the White House press room podium. We have also witnessed Fauci correct Trump’s misinformation for the sake of the public on numerous occasions.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Trump is worried about Fauci with regards to what the doctor’s newfound status as a household name is doing to his reputation.

According to CNN’s Jim Acosta, certainly not one of Trump’s favorite people, a source has told him that Trump is “fretting about Fauci.”

If Joe hired him, Trump could say, "see, he was totally partisan so I had to fire him."

He could be dismissed from the "Task Force" which would probably leave him more time to, y'know, actually work on the pandemic and not attend stupid blowhole conferences.

He could only be dismissed for cause by the NIH directors, and absent that cause, Trump could do whatever he wanted, and it wouldn't matter as far as Fauci's job is concerned.

drumpf wants to be the star and he wants the ratings to be all about HIM. that is what he's focused on, not the pandemic

Couched in highly soothing tones for Needy Amin's sake, Fauci nevertheless said that had there been an ongoing process in place at the end of last year and the beginning of this year, far fewer people would have been infected and died from Covid-19. If you're paying attention, Fauci was saying in terms as explicit as he could use that Trump's disbandment of the pandemic response task force was the catalyzing factor in the spread of Covid-19. That was the ongoing process that was missing at the crucial moment.

The error was compounded by Trump's ego and his inability to admit to making a mistake. The only thing Trump did is the one thing he's fixated on, "closing the border" with China. Of course, we don't have a border with China, and the order Trump promulgated in late January was so full of holes and exceptions that it was worthless in interdicting the spread of the virus.

Trump doesn't see the common good. Only the numbers. As in the number of people who think better of Fauci than of him.

Mister "I Alone" can't fix anything, but he wants everyone to say he can do it all.
