The View from the Tenderloin:
A vault of blue over my beautiful sleeping city this morning. I had to go to the clinic, unscheduled, for a non plague related issue, and the grocery store after. It benefited my need for exercise, and as it turned out, my peace of mind. I had no trouble, even in these times, seeing a doctor. The health care system in San Francisco is second to none.
The grocery store was not crowded and I found all I was looking for, no sweat, no hassle. For a big city Sf is a small town. Walking back home along Folsom street, I saw my little buddy. I hadn't seen him for about a week, and as always, I've been worried. He was walking on the opposite side of the street, going the other way. He hadn't seen me yet, so I crossed the intersection and waited. I watched him as he realized it was me. The smile that crossed that little face set off a joy bomb in my soul. He said he was doing ok, though I thought he looked tired. He told me he was on his way to an appointment, trying to get some money. He expressed his usual frustration with the system, he has absolutely no patients for process. I reminded him of my new address and told him to stop by when he could, hit the call box and I would come down. I told him when the plague money hits my bank account I would get him some camping equipment. I was good to see him. I shouldn't worry, he is five foot five and a hundred and twenty five pounds of TOUGH. Thank God.
Keep those dear to you close
