And that reporter will probably get off by using the Chaplinsky doctrine in court. (Chaplinsky v New Hampshire is a very important Supreme Court case that says "fighting words," which Trump uses in his press gaggles, are not protected speech.)

And then the courts will be up against another question: Does the president of the United States receive immunity from having his ass kicked when he needs it solely on the basis of the office he holds?

I watched Jim Acosta let Trump control the show on Friday - and wished he would do just this. Trump shows absolutely no respect, runs all over reporters and doesn't let them get a word in edgewise. About time someone gave him the same treatment.

She did it well. Firm, but insistent. A simple point that even Trump reporters should be able to grasp. You bought a month - what did you do with it. Over and over, even though it was clear he wasn't going to answer. And in the end - the tongue lashing he gave her was about the same as he gave Acosta on Friday.

What a contrast to Ohio - where the response when a reporter asks a question that the speaker doesn't know the answer to they acknowledge they don't know - AND - 9 times out of 10 they report an answer before the end of the press conference.
