the awful pandemic and opens everything up
Then he could bask in the adorations he would receive.
It's kind of not working very well. The State 's people are actually concerned about their citizens.

(6,058 posts)Trump actually could have been the big hero if he'd said a few uplifting things and then stood aside and let the professionals do their thing. People need heroes at difficult times and they're determined to see them somewhere. Trump could have been that hero. All he had to do, really, was not pull down his pants and take a dump on the country.

(82,849 posts)If Trump had done as you reasonably say, things would have gone much better for the country. But then, Trump would have had to share the accolades with others, someone with greater expertise, someone smarter than him, someone who made the tough call Trump couldn't make (either out of failure of nerve or utter ignorance). And that's not Trump. He has to be the only guy at the podium. The only one who made the Good Thing happen. The only one people praise. This crisis could have gone no other way, and thousands of Americans will die needlessly trying to satiate the insatiable Trump ego.

(22,976 posts)The COVID-19 pandemic could have been his making, if he possessed even a mote of genuine savvy and empathy. But he doesnt, so he continues with: unfettered bullshitting; juvenile name-calling; old Soviet-style disinformation; and shameless self-promotion, while the country (and the entire world) is ravaged by a novel virus.
His questionable sanity and proven inability to manage a crisis should reveal to ALL just how horribly unfit he is for the presidency.
His base will stick with him, no matter how awful he is. But Im hopeful that some former followers have *finally* gotten wise to this two-bit carnival barker.

(3,401 posts)Disney didnt close because of trumps nor DeSantis recommendations, nor did the NBA or MLB.
Business will be opened again under precautionary measures but once there is a rise in the spread again, they too will close for their own safety.

(18,815 posts)He says Trump believes that the economy will just snap right back.
He doesn't believe that is what will happen. People are going to be leary of going places where there are crowds for a long time.

(15,805 posts)The adoration script was written.
The adoration propaganda message was sent out.
The photo ops props were coached on adoration poses.
It was going to be perfect. Well, almost perfect because Pence wouldn't let him wear his crown or the sparkly star spangled banner cape. The media were not asking him fluffy questions, and those dang women kept asking him risky questions and they wouldn't go belly up when he browbeat them.
His flibbertigibbet responses weren't working as expected. The Adoration of the MAGA didn't go off as planned.

Are people finally sick of this obscenity?

(10,419 posts)Never mentions The Psycho's name. Just speaks about loosening restrictions when safe and producing his own medical professional who made a presentation.
All done with an ASL interpreter onscreen.
This best part is that he scheduled this right before the daily rant-a-thon.
