Is it just me or are squirrels acting really weird in LA these days? This is the second squirrel in a week to not respect my social distance.

(6,477 posts)It's actually remarkable that people don't have much animus against these mid-sized rodents all over cities pretty much all the time.

(7,447 posts)Whenever I had the money, I'd buy some Peanut M&Ms. I'd eat the candy/chocolate, and then give him the nut. He'd put his paws on my legs and eat it right out of my hand. We probably did that on a weekly basis for awhile.
One day he accidentally drew blood when he nicked my thumb. No big deal. Then two weeks later I got a sore throat, which was one of the symptoms of rabies lol
Obviously, I did not have rabies, but it was a momentary thought in my head lol

(62,444 posts)I have a nutty buddy that drops by daily for half a walnut.
He was eating out of my hand until a couple of weeks ago when I learned that their near-field vision is bad, and their teeth are amazingly sharp. Duh. Lesson learned.

(86,039 posts)thought I could see using the shower scene music from Psycho as well.
I once lived in a place with a tribe of them, got to know them very well. There were some scenes I witnessed where music was definitely in order. I once saw a small gang scene around the wheel of a car that instantly brought to mind the riff to the Jet Song from West Side Story!

(49,150 posts)young and old. Since the "virus" not so much. When I walk my dog through nowadays, they scurry down from the trees hoping for a meal from me.
Took them a few leftover biscuits yesterday. We're not big breadeaters so not much else to give.
