This is the America I love.
* The woman that went into the grocery store and purchased an elderly couples groceries when they feared to go in.
* Tyler Perry picked up the tab for thousands of seniors one morning.
* An anonymous donor here in MA called a grocery and asked how he could help seniors, he bought 5K worth of gift cards to cover their purchases.
* The 93 year old woman that held up a sign saying she needed beer because she likes one at night. She was delivered cases with the promise of more when needed. My mom likes one glass of wine before dinner and she gets one.
* My sister and I are doing homecare for mom. Her kids are trying to keep our outside contact down. One niece drove from the western part of the state to deliver groceries. My nephew is ordering us dinner and will deliver Friday. My other niece shopped for three households today and will deliver tomorrow.
Put a little love in your hearts.

(29,644 posts)We need to keep hearing about these simple acts of kindness. It washes away the sour taste of this administration's incompetence.
We got our Pelosi bucks today. I just bought a $100 gift certificate from my hair stylist for a future appointment. Our small business people need all the help they can get. Also donated to our local food bank.
That's nothing compared to buying people's groceries, but I think every little bit helps. These opportunities abound. Support local business!

(840 posts)Ride Connection volunteers take seniors and disabled to appointments and bring groceries.
Food bank volunteers meeting people at their cars with boxes of food.
Animal rescue volunteers who care for animals, walk dogs, clean and feed animals.
Many volunteers had to stop because of age or health problems while others are helping out.
Also a shoutout to people making masks for workers and others.
