A plea to the media: Why aren't you asking a critical follow-up question?
Trump has been allowed, for too long, to float this storm out on the excuse that the Obama Administration did not have the preparations or supplies to handle this pandemic. When you put it down in a sentence like that, you know that the fault lies with you for not asking the obvious questions.
Trump, with John Bolton's help, shut down the pandemic response team. THAT WAS THREE YEARS AGO! But, instead of asking him why he didn't have a proper replacement team to replace the one he inherited, you give him far too much oxygen going backwards, investigating Obama's pandemic response team, instead of forward. Ask Trump, "What did you do in the three years after you closed down the pandemic response team."
Why is no one being that direct with Trump?
And, btw, media. You're doing a pretty crappy job of researching the Obama era pandemic response team. The people who were responsible for it are doing a better job coming out to explain that it was far more ready to handle this pandemic, than Trump claims.
