Harris on if she'd serve as Biden's VP: 'I'd be honored to serve with Joe'

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) said Thursday she would be “honored” to serve as former vice president and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s running mate if asked, but said that her current focus is on addressing the coronavirus pandemic. "I have been focused 100 percent on this pandemic," Harris said when asked if she had spoken recently with Biden.

“Obviously I would be honored if I were being considered, but I have to tell you right now my entire focus has been on what we need to do to get relief to Americans right now, because 22 million Americans as of today, just in the last few weeks, are unemployed. People are trying to figure out how to feed their babies and pay their rent,” she continued.

"I think what's most important is that we all join together, that we unify the party, that we unify the country and that we elect Joe Biden because Donald Trump does not know how to do the job,” she added. Pressed by Melvin on whether she would accept if Biden asks her to serve as his vice president, Harris responded, “Obviously I’d be honored to serve with Joe.”

Add her to the list of those ‘honored to serve with Joe’.

We like them both but recognize which one has experience and which one does not.

so you, as not an African-American, feel qualified to have an opinion on which AA woman we, collectively, would prefer?

and the smart folks recognize when maybe they don't know enough to express that opinion lest they look...not so smart.

Never has or Trump wouldn’t be President.

What is more important is who can help attract progressive voters and flip a swing state.

but back in the good old days, before C-19, I was able to talk with people over a beer at the Beer Den. I'd bring up politics, gently, and after a couple of beers, people would open up a bit. The black folks I was able to talk with were most impressed by Joe Biden, regarding him as an important part of the Obama-Biden administration, which they viewed very favorably.

I was curious as to why Cory Booker or Kamala Harris were not as appealing, and they couldn't related to Sen. Booker's veganism. Most everybody here likes barbecue! And I got some head shakes when I asked about Sen. Harris, one guy even of the opinion that she didn't think black men were good enough for her, and cited her choice of spouse. I came back with "People have the right to love who they love," and then the prosecutor thing came up.

She never polled well at any time here in SC. I don't recall her polling well with African-American voters in any poll that I saw while she was still in the running.

and help flip a swing state is more important. Plus her history as a prosecutor won’t help attract progressive voters.

When first ABRAMS, then WARREN, said they wanted it I thought it was putting Joe in a spot, but the more there are the less pressure?
