At Thursdays White House task force briefing, President Donald Trump emphasized that states are on the front lines of testing efforts, and dismissed as ridiculous the idea that the federal government is supposed to get people tested in parking lots.
This is a considerable about-face from just a few weeks ago, when the president boasted that he had called up the CEOs of several big box stores and said that they were going to set up federally-supported testing facilities
in parking lots.

(24,455 posts)we are going to in this COVID-19 nightmare. Republicans could stop this tomorrow, but that would mean they are realizing the insanity of the POTUS they alone are propping up. So, January, 2021, is the earliest we can deal with this.

(175,731 posts)When my nephew-in-law had it, his doctor appointment for it took place in his car in the alley behind the doctor's office. His flu test was negative, but he was not eligible for a Covid-19 test.
He had a mild case, required no hospitalization and is now recovered. My niece and their daughter also had it, also mild cases from which they're recovered. Their sons didn't get it -- go figure.
If it's not ridiculous to see patients in the alley, there's nothing ridiculous about testing people in parking lots. Spanky's an idiot.
