People are slamming Steven Mnuchin for suggesting the $1,200 checks could last people 10 weeks

Wednesday in which he appeared to suggest the $1,200 stimulus payments could last people up to 10 weeks.

"I think the entire package provides economic relief overall for about 10 weeks," Mnuchin told CBS's "Face the Nation." "Hopefully we will kill this virus quicker and we won't need it, but we have liquidity to put into the American economy to support American workers and American business."

His comments likely referred to the entire $2 trillion relief package passed by Congress in March, which also provided more flexible requirements for unemployment benefits, bailouts, and loans to large corporations, as well as loans to small businesses so that they could continue paying their workers. That small-business program ran out of funding on Thursday as lawmakers debated whether further stimulus would be required.

Still, the fury came quick from those who heard the former Goldman Sachs executive's comments as implying the direct payments could last for more than two months, equating to about $17 per day.

He mentioned those two things but he didn’t say $1,200 was the only part.

also!

Even, then, some will be hurt, especially if more aide is not coming, gaps aren’t filled, people are left out on healthcare, etc.

If this was trending toward a RW talking point it would be all over the net. At least here people are willing to entertain further information.

However whenever I see something like this I think of John McCain thinking the average middle class income was $250k back when he was running for president. RW politicians largely live in a wealthy bubble. It makes me sick when I see poorer people supporting them on due to some stupid propaganda they absorb.
