nothing since about 6 pm (8 pm EST) yesterday. I've been watching his twitter account but nothing there either. At first I was paranoid, but I can't go there.

No idea what's up.

He's using publicly available source data, for heavens sakes. Why would anyone be pressuring him to close down or delete data?

Just an ambitious high school kid, for heavens sakes.

11. There are at least a dozen sites that provide the exact same information.

There is no basis in reality to assume that the government suppressed an aggregation of data provided by the government on one site, and left all others to continue to provide it.

It is ridiculous to think that the government targeted one site - out of a dozen or so - that provide the exact same information.

An unsubstantiated assertion that it was "due to the government," without more, is not a reasonable basis for spreading a rumor that the government is suppressing an independent site that merely aggregates government provided information in the same way that a dozen or more siges also aggregate the same information.

ETA: Here is a much more likely reason:

Contact your hosting provider letting them know your web server is not completing requests. An Error 522 means that the request was able to connect to your web server, but that the request didn't finish. The most likely cause is that something on your server is hogging resources. Additional troubleshooting information here.

It has been reported that this is the most popular site. If that is, indeed, the case it is far more likely that the number of site visits is "hogging resources," and the commercial vendor shut it down - or throttled it than that the government shut down the site.

I like this site, because it's the most clear, basic, "just the facts ma'am", of the statistics of Covid-19. I'm SO GLAD it's back up!
