CNN FACT CHECK: Trump's Saturday coronavirus briefing was littered with false claims, old and new

Washington (CNN) - It's hard to know where to begin fact checking.

President Donald Trump's latest coronavirus press conference on Saturday afternoon was littered with false claims about both the pandemic crisis and various unrelated matters Trump decided to talk about, from North Korea and Iran to Chinese tariffs.

Trump continued to be dishonest on the critical subject of coronavirus testing, wrongly claiming he "inherited" faulty tests -- they were developed this year, during his presidency -- and painting an overly rosy picture of the US testing situation.

He also repeated several of the false claims he likes to make at his campaign rallies.

That is the only responsible thing for a news organization to do.

Cover the briefing by having reporters there and put together an edited piece based upon actual news given by Drs. Fauci or Birx.

No need to freely broadcast lies, unrelated rantings, or a commercial for some pillow manufacturer.

Real news and facts and keep the rest off the air.

He is on top of it all the time. He links Trump’s daily blunderstorm directly back to the Fox News and RW news that it came from. I know CNN doesn’t want to spend time countering the RW noise machine (Fox itself spends a considerable amount of time with the “they are lying to you!” cult thing) but Dale gets right to it. Often the rest of the panel meets him with dead air

He’s really good. I looked up once his history but I don’t remember it now.

boring and repetitive. Good grief, the Idiot has been doing the same thing for four years. Why give him so much attention; he is totally worthless.

For crying out loud, call it what it is, stop with the false claims bullshit.

They yelled on the Senate floor, "You Lie" to Barack Obama, yet we seem to be unable to do the same with this cretin.
