Hundreds defy Idaho's stay-at-home order at Capitol protest

BOISE, Idaho —
More than 1,000 protesters gathered at the Idaho Statehouse Friday afternoon in defiance of Gov. Brad Little’s extension of the statewide stay-at-home order.

The Idaho Freedom Foundation, a libertarian think tank and lobbying group, emblazoned its social media feeds with “Disobey Idaho” graphics and announced that it would host Friday’s rally along with Health Freedom Idaho and the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance.

Wayne Hoffman, president of the Idaho Freedom Foundation, said the governor should allow all businesses to open to give owners a chance to demonstrate that they can take appropriate steps to mitigate the risk. Hoffman said. “It’s like a lot of other variables that you have to deal with in the world — people with all kinds of ailments come to your doors.” Most at the protest were standing shoulder-to-shoulder and not wearing masks. Some carried signs claiming the coronavirus is a hoax.

In northern Idaho, Republican state Rep. Heather Scott referred to the governor as “Little Hitler” and compared the stay-at-home orders to Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. “I mean, that’s no different than Nazi Germany ...”

More than 1,600 Idaho residents have COVID-19, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University. At least 41 Idahoans have died.

There are people in that group who, if tested, would test positive, I guarantee. Soon, many more will join them.

There have been lots of protests with far more people that get little media attention. These are not protests, they are Pro-Trump political rallies getting Free media attention.

Several hundred show up, knowing there will be no counter rally. Perhaps get huge Biden signage trucks to cruise the areas. It isn't as if these are spontaneous.

We believe many of the younger ones were at their parents side during the Tea Party, "grassroots" revolution, brought to you by Americans For Prosperity (aka, Koch brothers/Birchers).

The kids grew up and are carrying on, think about it..
The dumb appears to get only stronger and more violent/virulent.

A very sad state of affairs......

But, the media won't report on that. Bothsidersism! False equivalency!

It's what delivered Trump in the first place and they've got to have their horse race.

rural states like Idaho should be less vulnerable due to its population density being far below that of more urban areas.

So what these people are doing essentially undermines that advantage. And if Idaho does become host to one or more hot spots, its rural nature means the local health care system will be more easily overwhelmed.

Stay tuned. We'll know more in three weeks or a month.

we have of a semi-functioning health care system.

I really only have 1 very large question, why, if they are defying a state order, why are the governors in these states not calling out the National Guard in each state to round them up for defying a "state order"? Hmmm?
You know, like what happened in Ferguson, MO a few years back. Did not take long at all for National Guard to be called in there, right?

So WTF is really going on?

Anyone?

Wonder how many have direct personal economic reasons that they're willing to sacrifice the lives of many others for, though unwilling to admit that. And how many are just the potential sacrificees the RW always produces, also self unexamined.
