The Petri Dish Protest Movement

Every time I see a group of maskless white people carrying guns and wearing MAGA hats who are protesting measures to slow down COVID-19, I see a petri dish, adding to the viral load.

In every one of those protests, there are people who, if tested, would test positive for the COVID-19 virus. Chanting, yelling, and standing shoulder to shoulder and close to the people in front of them, they are broadcasting the virus to others.

That is the irony of these protests. Even as the protesters deny the reality of this pandemic, they are actively spreading it.

Instead of using his Bully Pulpit to discourage such blatant flaunting of safety measures, Donald Trump is cheering for those groups. Perhaps he should consider going to one of the protests and encouraging the unsafe actions in person.
